About the Role
Join a busy General Medicine department in Rotorua and work alongside supportive consultants and fellow registrars. This role offers hands-on experience, excellent teaching, and exposure to a wide variety of medical cases – perfect for those looking to broaden their skills and advance in training.
In this role, you will:
Work with a team of experienced General Physicians, many with dual subspecialty training
Gain broad clinical experience, as all acute medical admissions fall under General Medicine
Build subspecialty expertise in:
Cardiology
Gastroenterology
Respiratory Medicine
Endocrinology
Nephrology
Palliative Care
Diabetes Management
Manage high-acuity cases, including ICU-level patients, supporting advanced training requirements
Access specialist knowledge via regional visiting consultants
Oversee a diverse mix of inpatient and outpatient cases
Requirements:
Full registration to practise in a comparable health country
At least 1 year of experience in General Medicine
Willingness and eligibility to register with the Medical Council of New Zealand
