Prospero Health & Social Care is seeking Locum General Practitioners or Urgent Care Doctors to support a busy and well-resourced clinic in Whangārei over the summer period. This is a short-term locum role from January to March 2026, ideal for doctors looking to contribute temporarily without relocating permanently. Two full-time positions are available.

About the Role
This locum opportunity offers variety and flexibility in a supportive clinical environment. You’ll work a 5-day roster (4 weekdays + 1 weekend day), with shifts ranging from 6 to 10 hours, including afternoon sessions from 2pm to 8pm.
Availability in blocks is preferred and will be considered, so please reach out even if you're available for part of the term.

Pay Rates
- $190.00 + GST per hour for standard hours
- $220.00 + GST per hour for after-hours shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care across general practice and urgent care presentations
- Collaborate with UC Fellows and experienced clinical staff
- Deliver patient-centred care in a fast-paced, well-equipped clinic
- Contribute to continuity of care and clinical decision-making
- Support acute presentations and minor injuries
What We’re Looking For
- Full registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Experience in General Practice, Rural Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care
- Ability to work independently with support from UC Fellows
- Commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence
