Hours: Full time | Monday–Friday | No on-call
An experienced Clinical Nurse Manager is sought to lead a well-established acute mental health inpatient unit within a public hospital on the west coast of the North Island.
This senior leadership role sits within a 23-bed acute unit comprising General Adult, Psychogeriatric and Intensive Psychiatric Care beds. The position provides clinical, operational and people leadership to a large multidisciplinary team and works closely with senior medical staff.
Leadership of approximately 64 FTE, including Associate CNM, CNS, CNCs, nursing staff and allied health professionals
Responsibility for clinical quality, workforce leadership and service development
Close collaboration with SMOs, registrars and house officers
Largely recruited workforce with a strong focus on lifting practice and supporting a diverse, internationally recruited nursing team
Supported by established senior nursing leadership and education structures
The role is currently vacant and covered by secondment, offering an opportunity to step in and make a meaningful impact
Registered Nurse with significant acute mental health experience
Proven leadership experience at CNM or equivalent level
Strong people leadership, coaching and change management skills
A commitment to quality improvement, staff development and safe, effective care
