We are recruiting for a Clinical Manager to lead a 31-bed aged care facility in Orewa, predominantly providing hospital-level care.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the clinical side of aged care while taking ownership of the day-to-day leadership and operation of the facility.
The Opportunity
As Facility Manager, you'll take responsibility for the clinical and operational performance of the home, ensuring residents receive consistently high-quality care while creating a positive, well-supported environment for your team.
This is a hands-on leadership position rather than a purely administrative management role. You'll be supported by a collaborative Director who takes responsibility for areas including HR, payroll and budgets, allowing you to maintain a strong focus on residents, clinical standards and your team.
You'll lead a team including 4 Registered Nurses, approximately 10–15 caregivers and additional support staff.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the day-to-day clinical and operational running of the facility
Supporting and developing RNs, caregivers and support staff
Maintaining high standards of resident care
Quality assurance, internal audits and continuous improvement
Infection prevention and control
Staff training, performance and development
Admissions and resident care planning
Building strong relationships with residents and their families
Maintaining compliance with relevant aged care and health standards
Creating a positive, accountable and supportive team culture
What We're Looking For
You'll be a Registered Nurse with a current NZ APC and bring strong clinical knowledge alongside the confidence to lead others.
Previous Manager experience would be highly regarded; however, we're equally interested in hearing from experienced Senior RNs, Clinical Leads, Unit Coordinators or Clinical Nurse Managers who are ready to step into broader facility leadership. You'll ideally bring:
Current NZ Nursing Council registration and APC
Strong aged care clinical experience
Previous leadership or people-management experience
interRAI training or previous interRAI experience with a willingness to refresh
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Confidence managing difficult conversations and making decisions
Strong quality, compliance and clinical governance awareness
A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
Most importantly, you'll be someone who can bring people with you – a visible, confident and approachable leader who genuinely cares about residents and the people delivering their care.
Hours & Support
This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Typical hours are approximately 7am–3pm, with some flexibility available for the right person.
There will be an on-call component to the position, with the final arrangement negotiable and likely to operate on a shared rotation.
